WHAT IS FAMMOSAIC?
FAMMosaic stands for Forever Art Micro Mosaic.
Forever Art Micro Mosaic is an enterprise to re-introduce micro mosaic to Britain. David Tootill is
collaborating with the V&A and London School of Mosaic to develop micro mosaics as an art form
that is taught at London School of Mosaic.
As an enterprise there will be initiatives including portraits, gifts, decorative boxes, guerrilla art on
the street, with an emphasis on using re-cycled items as the basis of design & making. I am
interested in circular economies and turning away from a debt based economy, towards one of
credit. For example instead of students racking up debts, they are given grants to study and credited
with £50,000 when they are awarded a degree to help them set up home or business or both.
The wider aim is to reclaim public space for beauty and truth, with all land being owned by the
people and anyone claiming private ownership over a piece of land having to pay land value tax - a
yearly fee for its exclusive use. The concept is: the people are sovereign.
Instead of government borrowing money from banks they print their own money for capital
projects, health & education. All income tax is abolished as work is recognised as an individual giving
to others – a good thing. To balance the economy the government takes in land value tax, waste tax
(include empty properties) and a variable transaction tax, with an algorithm that takes off whatever
sum is required that day on every transaction, to balance the books.
